Pritviraj’s entry to films was unexpected as he had no much passion to be an actor. Yet, when life offered him this surprise, he decided to take up the challenge and in the process, fell in love with his job.
His journey, through up and downs, was not a bed of roses, but his sheer hard work never went wasted as he has become one of the biggest stars of Malayalam film industry. And on September 13, 2017, he completed 15 glorious years in the film industry.
15 Years 100 Films
Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is known as Prithvi for his legion of fans, was always sincere and passionate in his job. His entry to film world was through Nandanam. But the first movie which hit the screens featuring Prithviraj was ‘Nakshathrakannulla Rajakumaran’. Unfortunately, the movie went flop at the box office. But the verdict was not same with his second outing. The movie Nandanam went huge hit at the box office. Even though the movie was hit at box office Prithviraj’s role back shaded in the character did by Navya Nair.
State Award in Young Age
In the next few movies Pritvi had nothing to do. In 2003, he got a break in Mollywood in the form blockbuster hit Swapnakoodu. But again, the worst was waiting to hit his confidence as he delivered consecutive flops in the year 2004 and 2005. Critics went ahead and declared that his career was over. When movies flopped one after other, there came an offer to work in Lal Jose Film Classmates. The movie went to Industry hit. The film thrashed the record set by Rasathantharam and Rajamanikyam.
Through the next outing Vasthavam, Kerala State award for best actor reached in Prithviraj’s hand. And also, he become youngest person one who achieve this award.
From Rajappan to Prithvi aka Rajuvettan
Classmates and Vasthavam in 2006 changed his career and he never looked back again although success and failures have been part of his journey. Later in 2009, Deepan’s Puthiya Mukham gave him an Superstar image. And 2013, 2014 and 2015 were golden years in his acting career.
Classmates, Swapnakoodu, Puthiya Mukham, Pokkiri Raja, Indian Rupee, Anandabadram, Ayalum Njanum Thammil, Memmories, Mumbai Police, Sapthamasree Thaskara, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Amar Akbar Antony and Ezra are some of his major hit movies at box office. And there is a big list of flops like Double Barrel, Tiyan etc. Yet he remains an inspiring personality for his fans as he has treated success and failures in the same wave length.
30+ Awards, 9 Blockbusters, Many Superhits
In his 15 years of acting career, he emerges as a youth icon of Kerala. He stands in side of right. The actor who have also did good movies in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu completed 95 movies in his 15 years of acting. And also, have won 30+ awards in this time period.
